Lynne M. Dixon, MS, has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice since 1986. She employs EMDR and hypnosis, along with a psychodynamic foundation as important tools in assisting clients to realize a fuller life experience. Over the more than 20 years of practicing psychotherapy, Lynne has worked with individuals and couples struggling with dysfunctional family experiences, including early trauma and abuse, chronic and life threatening illness, grief, loss, anxiety and depression.
Lynne was trained by the founder of EMDR and the EMDR Institute, Francine Shapiro. She has been EMDR Certified since 1991. Lynne has been an EMDR Institute Facilitator since 1993 and an EMDRIA approved consultant since EMDRIA first designated the Consultant criteria. Both of these positions require the highest level of EMDR competency and knowledge, requiring her to continually maintain and update her knowledge of EMDR as the discipline grows and matures.
Lynne is a Certified Hypnotherapist and uses hypnosis for stress-reduction, habit abatement and phobias. She has also used Hypnosis for performance enrichment and test-taking anxiety, assisting many interns to successfully pass their licensing exams. Additionally, Lynne has employed hypnosis as an effective adjunct to EMDR processing.
Lynne has had exceptional success in assisting people in accessing the natural healing systems that are inherent in all of us. She provides the expert guidance needed to release trauma and tap into the hidden potential of natural resources to heal psychological wounds.
